On Friday, four unions represented by the Associated Railway Unions of Algoma Central Railway (ACR) ratified a four-year contract with CN.
Retroactive to Feb. 1, 2010, the contract provides general wage and benefit increases “consistent with other agreements reached this year,” CN officials said in a prepared statement. The agreement covers about 70 mechanical, engineering and clerical employees.
The four unions are the Teamsters Canada Rail Conference-Maintenance of Way Division, Canadian Auto Workers, International Association of Machinists and United Steelworkers.
CN acquired ACR as part of the Wisconsin Central Transportation Corp acquisition in 2001.
