Yesterday, Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen delegates re-elected Don Hahs as national president at the union’s first quadrennial convention in Las Vegas.
To serve a four-year term, Hahs is the first president to win reelection since 1981. Prior to winning a run-off election in September 2001, he served the union as international vice president for five years.
In addition, delegates re-elected National Vice Presidents Dale McPherson, Merle Geiger and Steve Speagle to four-year terms. They also elected John Tolman as VP and national legislative representative, and Marcus Ruef as national VP to succeed Paul Wingo, who is retiring.
