Rail News: Labor
The Iowa, Chicago, and Eastern Railroad Corp. (IC&E) and Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen division of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters recently agreed to arbitrate the remaining issues of their collective bargaining dispute, averting a potential strike, according to the National Mediation Board.
Since a contract expired nearly two years ago, negotiations between IC&E and union officials have stalled over wage and health benefit proposals.
Formed three years ago, IC&E operates more than 1,400 track miles in Iowa, Minnesota, Illinois, Missouri and Wisconsin.
