On Dec. 1, Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers West Virginia State Legislative Board Chairman Darrell Blake died unexpectedly in Huntington, W.Va. He was 58.
Blake joined the union in 1982, serving in various capacities before being named West Virginia legislative board chairman in 1997.
"Darrell served this organization with great devotion," said BLE International President Don Hahs in a prepared statement. "He was a great asset to this Brotherhood and will be sorely missed."
Blake is survived by his wife, Diane, a daughter, three sons, a stepdaughter and nine grandchildren.
The family asks that contributions be made to the Pediatric and Adult Congenital Heart Program at Duke University, P. O. Box 3090, Durham, N.C. 27710.
