Metra to begin major hiring push in January

Metra in January will launch a major hiring effort to ensure it has enough employees to respond to the Chicago commuter railroad's schedule adjustments in first-quarter 2022.

Jobs to be posted include locomotive engineers, conductors, coach cleaners, trackmen, maintenance positions and other positions in operations and administration.

Some of the jobs may have an applicant limit, Metra officials said in a press release. All new hires will  be required to show proof of vaccination against COVID-19.

The openings will be posted on Metra's career portal.
