Yesterday, the National Mediation Board announced it will partner with the University of Massachusetts for the next three years to perform research under a National Science Foundation grant.

NMB officials will work with faculty members to design and test improvements to online dispute resolution (ODR) technology. Board members also will involve railroad, airline and union representatives in the research project.

The NMB seeks to increase the use of ODR technology in federal mediation cases by providing more information and offering appropriate tools.
