Pittsburgh port authority, ATU reach four-year agreement
advertisement
Amalgamated Transit Union Local 85 recently ratified a collective-bargaining agreement with the Port Authority of Allegheny County.
The four-year contract covers more than 2,400 light-rail operators, bus drivers, mechanics and clerical workers. The pact provides competitive wages and reins in health-care and post-retirement benefit expenses, the authority said. As a result, the contract will reduce the agency's legacy obligation costs by about $92.8 million over four years.
