Rail News: Labor
Last week, United Steelworkers-represented clerical and intermodal workers ratified a three-year agreement with Canadian Pacific Railway.
To expire at 2009’s end, the contract calls for wage increases, benefit improvements and a number of “work-life balance” provisions, according to the union, which represents 1,500 intermodal, transportation service, crew dispatching, security and clerical workers.
CPR now has three rail labor agreements in place with Canadian unions that expire at the end of 2008 or 2009.
