UTU members elect international officers

United Transportation Union (UTU) members continued to elect international officers the past few days during a national convention in Hollywood, Fla.

Members re-elected National Legislative Director James Brunkenhoefer and Alternate National Legislative Director James Stem.

Delegates also elected the following international vice presidents: John Fitzgerald, Robert Kerley, David Wier, J.R. Cumby, Tony Iannone, Roy Boling, John Previsich, John Babler, Vic Baffoni and Glenn King, who will assume the newly created position of international vice president and legislative director for Canada.

International VP Carl Vahldick decided to resign, effective Dec. 31, and his position will not be filled, the UTU said.

In addition, delegates elected Delbert Strunk as alternate VP-East; Paul Tibbit, alternate VP-West; Larry Barrilleaux, alternate VP-South; Bonnie Morr, alternate VP of Bus-West; Richard Deiser, alternate VP of Bus-East; and Garth Bates, Canadian alternate VP and legislative director.
