VIA Rail reaches tentative contract with locomotive engineers

Last week, VIA Rail Canada Inc. reached a tentative agreement with the Teamster Canada Rail Conference, avoiding a strike proposed to begin Dec. 24.
Contract details will be released following a ratification vote by the union, which represents more than 350 VIA Rail locomotive engineers.
