Officials at Wabtec Corp.'s WABCO Freight Car Products division recently inked a three-year contract with hourly workers at WABCO's Stoney Creek, Ontario, plant.
Expiring April 22, 2007, the pact covers about 285 workers represented by the National Automobile, Aerospace, Transportation and General Workers Union of Canada, Local 558.
"We're pleased to have completed the negotiation without any disruption in operations, which demonstrates a good working relationship with our employees," said Wabtec Vice President of Human Resources Scott Wahlstrom in a prepared statement.
Last month, officials at Wabtec's Locomotive Products and Rubber Products divisions in Wilmerding and Greensburg, Pa., respectively, negotiated a three-year contract — expiring April 30, 2007 — with about 180 workers represented by the International Union of Radio and Machine Workers, Local 610.
Wabtec employs 4,500 people worldwide, about 38 percent of which are covered by labor agreements. The supplier's next major contract requiring re-negotiations will expire in 18 months.
