Chartwell International Inc. recently acquired E-Rail Logistics Inc. and Belville Mining Co. Inc., which owns rail-served coal, limestone and clay mines in southern Ohio. As part of the transactions, Chartwell also obtained various waste disposal and offload facilities with direct rail access.
Formerly a unit of Rail Waste Holdings L.L.C., E-Rail Logistics owns and manages a rail-car fleet, as well as waste containers and other transportation equipment.
“We believe we have further solidified our position to … provide the most synergistically combined waste by rail services, transportation logistics and disposal options,” Chartwell International officials said in a prepared statement.
