Savage yesterday announced the opening of a new multi-commodity transload terminal in San Joaquin County near Stockton that will serve as a gateway for the distribution of renewable fuels into California.

The terminal is now operational and provides a connection to BNSF Railway Co. and Union Pacific Railroad.

Savage Railport–Stockton is part of the company’s growing transload network and provides a key link in the supply chain for transporting renewable diesel and biodiesel produced in the Gulf Coast and U.S. interior for use by California and West Coast consumers, Savage officials said in a press release.

OmniTRAX Inc. will transport rail cars and service the Stockton railport through its affiliate, Stockton Terminal and Eastern Railroad.
