BNSF Logistics L.L.C. has landed a logistics management contract with one of the nation’s largest online retailers. Amazon.com recently selected the BNSF Railway Co. subsidiary to coordinate regional load control centers, and manage freight moving between domestic suppliers and the retailer’s North American distribution network.
BNSF Logistics also will identify and use cross-dock facilities as part of its supply-chain services.
“Our team is … leveraging our operating experience and customizing service to meet Amazon’s unique requirements,” said BNSF Logistics Vice President and General Manager Eric Wolfe in a prepared statement.
