BNSF Logistics purchases freight forwarder M.R.S.

Burlington Northern Santa Fe subsidiary BNSF Logistics L.L.C. recently acquired freight forwarder The M.R.S. Cos. Inc. Terms weren't disclosed.
Formed in 1985 by President Michael Solomon Sr., M.R.S. will become a unit of BNSF Logistics' Transportation Execution Services (TES) division. BNSF Logistics named Solomon vice president of sales and marketing, reporting to Vice President and General Manager Eric Wolfe.
"We are pleased to add the experience and customer base that Solomon and his team have built over the years to our steadily growing business," said Wolfe in a prepared statement.
Formed in August 2002, BNSF Logistics offers TES, modal solutions, and supply-chain and consulting services.
"Becoming part of BNSF Logistics at this time will ensure that we can continue to provide our customers with leading-edge logistics technology and comprehensive multi-modal execution, while expanding our reach," said Solomon.
