Union Pacific Distribution Services (UPDS) recently received the 2011 Chrysler Partnership Award from the automaker. The award recognizes UPDS’ commitment as a supply chain partner and cost-saving efforts, such as transit-time reductions, truck conversions and coordination with suppliers, according to Chrysler.
“This award reflects our commitment to creating value for our customers by providing safe and reliable transportation logistics,” said Kate Betsworth, UPDS assistant vice president and general manager, in a prepared statement.
A Union Pacific Railroad subsidiary, UPDS provides door-to-door transportation services that combine the economies of long-haul rail service with the flexibility of over-the-road movements.
