The Savannah Gateway Industrial Hub (SGIH) has unveiled a 388,400-square-foot import distribution facility to serve the park's second tenant.

Operated by Ryder Logistics, the facility joins A&R Logistics' new rail-served export operations in the park's first million square feet of industrial operations. Two additional speculative facilities are under construction to meet booming demand at the Port of Savannah.

SGIH's new import distribution facility marks the park’s first million square feet of completed industrial operations. Served by OmniTRAX Inc., SGIH provides tenants dual Class I service from CSX and Norfolk Southern Railway.

Paced by the strongest demand in its history, the port continues to set volume records. The Georgia Ports Authority expects to log more than 5 million 20-foot equivalent units at the port in its current fiscal year, port officials said in a press release.
