The Los Angeles County Economic Development Corp. (LAEDC) recently named Al Shepetuk the first staff member and president of the California Transportation and Logistics Institute (CTLI). A partnership between LAEDC, the Southern California Leadership Council, California Community Colleges and the California State University system, CTLI provides an education curriculum designed to prepare and train students for transportation and logistics careers.

Shepetuk has experience working with many of CTLI’s stakeholders to improve their logistics systems. He previously has held numerous positions at K-12 and higher educational institutions, non-profit organizations, and state and local transportation agencies.

By 2030, the number of transportation and logistics jobs in California are expected to almost double, totaling about 12 percent of new jobs in the state, according to CTLI.
