TNW Corp. yesterday opened Panhandle Logistics Solutions (PLS), a new bulk transload facility located near Sunray, Texas.

The facility focuses on the transfer of bulk materials between rail cars and trucks. It offers customers a hub for rail-car, warehousing, commercial development storage, transload and transportation services, according to a TNW press release.

"PLS provides non-rail-served businesses in the Texas Panhandle the ability to better control their inventory by utilizing a just-in-time delivery approach to reduce excess inventory costs; better control their carbon footprint by eliminating the need for long-haul trucks; and lower their operating and transportation costs," said TNW Vice President Sales and Marketing Wade Hoffmann.

The facility offers a direct connection to Texas Northwestern Railway (TXNW), which has the capacity for the storage of more than 10,000 rail cars as well as access to the North American rail network.

TXNW previously signed Crop Production Services as the first tenant for the Panhandle Logistics Park.
