Watco Logistics yesterday hosted an event to mark the opening of the company’s new warehouse and operating center at the Interstate 49 Logistics Park in Springdale, Arkansas.

The 185,000-square-foot building features 20,000 square feet of office space and a 165,000-square-foot warehouse, with 18 dock doors and three ramps. In addition, the warehouse's racking and floor space enables the facility to hold up to 18,000 pallets of freight.

Domestic and international logistics customers will be served by the center, which will specialize in full truckload, less-than-truckload, rail/intermodal, air, ocean, and inland river barge freight management, Watco officials said in a press release.

The warehouse will be dedicated to Watco’s retail services logistics operations, including inbound inventory, storage, outbound distribution, ecommerce management, special projects, rollout management and reverse logistics.

In addition, a technology lab will open on site in 2024 featuring technology infrastructure to prepare product and update existing hardware in bulk.

"The new logistics center is not just a building, but an investment in Northwest Arkansas. It represents Watco’s commitment to customers and our priority to meet their growing needs in the future," said Watco CEO Dan Smith.
