GE Equipment Services, Rail Services recently reached an agreement to purchase the assets of Allrail Services, which maintains rail cars. Terms weren’t disclosed.

The assets include mini car repair shops and mobile repair units. Expected to close sometime next month, the deal will help GE expand its car maintenance service offerings, the company said.

GE’s rail services unit manages a fleet of 170,000 cars, including box, tank and intermodal flat cars; grain, coal, plastics and specialty hoppers; and mill gondolas. The unit also owns 150,000 intermodal trailers, containers and chassis.
