Alliance Terminal Railroad L.L.C. (ATR) recently filed an exemption notice with the Surface Transportation Board to sublease from Quality Terminal Services L.L.C. (QTS) and operate about 13 track miles owned by Burlington Northern Santa Fe in Haslet, Texas.

ATR also plans to acquire overhead trackage rights for 11 miles along BNSF's mainline between Haslet and Saginaw, Texas.

OmniTRAX Inc. — which owns and operates QTS — is seeking STB approval to control ATR after the railroad becomes a Class III carrier. The holding company currently owns 12 regionals and short lines operating in eight states and three Canadian provinces.
