Cattron Group Inc. continues to expand its presence in the remote-control product market. Today, the company announced it acquired industrial remote-control product supplier Remtron Inc., which is located in Escondido, Calif. The combined companies' headquarters will be located in Sharpsville, Pa.

Last month, Cattron Group — the parent company of industrial remote-control product supplier and service provider Cattron-Theimeg Inc. — acquired the BELTPACK® locomotive remote-control line and Canac Remote Control Technologies (formerly VECTRAN Inc.) from Canadian National Railway Co.

Remtron markets the COMMAND PRO® remote-control product line designed for industrial cranes and commercial mobile equipment. The company will continue to produce, sell, service and support the products in North America through its domestic dealer network. Cattron also will market, sell and support Remtron's products through a worldwide operations, sales and distribution network. All customer warranties, contracts and commitments will remain in place.

"This acquisition will enable us to offer the marketplace the most diverse and complete product line in the world," said Cattron Group Chairman Tom McFall in a prepared statement. "The addition of Remtron’s products and technology is part of the Cattron Group’s stated strategy to position ourselves as the global leader in commercial and industrial remote control."

The acquisition also provides Cattron Group a West Coast base to service existing industrial and railroad customers.
