Electro-Motive Diesel Inc. (EMD) recently acquired certain assets of ITS Rail Services, which provides technical services, training and publications to the global rail industry. Details weren’t disclosed.
ITS will undertake international locomotive rebuild projects and support EMD during customer consultations, said Dean Roberts, EMD’s vice president and general manager-aftermarket North America, in a prepared statement. EMD also plans to use ITS’ training concepts at its worldwide training centers.
“[Their] experience in managing locomotive life extensions, combined with their training expertise, will be very helpful to instructing customers how to best operate, maintain and improve upon their EMD locomotives,” said Albert Enste, EMD VP and GM of international sales and service.
