Last month, Georgia Central Railway L.P. filed an exemption notice with the Surface Transportation Board to acquire from CSX Transportation and lease about 57 track miles between Macon and East Dublin, Ga. The 220-mile short line currently leases the line from CSXT and serves as the segment's sole operator.
Owned by Rail Management Corp., Georgia Central interchanges with CSXT in Savannah, Ga.; Norfolk Southern Railway, in Dublin and Macon; and Heart of Georgia Railroad Inc., in Vidalia, Ga.
