Georgia Southwestern Railroad Inc. (GSWR) recently filed an exemption notice with the Surface Transportation Board to acquire 43 track miles from Central of Georgia Railroad Co. (CGA).

In addition to obtaining the line between Florida Rock and Allie, Ga., GSWR would acquire incidental trackage rights from CGA to a 12.2-mile line between South Columbus and Florida Rock, Ga.

The 282-mile GSWR operates track in southwest Georgia and eastern Alabama, and moves agricultural products, chemicals, plastics, aggregates and forest products. CGA is an operating entity of Norfolk Southern Corp.
