Global Rail Systems acquires Alstom's computerized dispatching software

Global Rail Systems Inc. recently acquired the Personal Traffic Master™ computerized dispatching software system from Alstom Transport.

Global Rail will modify the system — designed for dispatching yards, Centralized Traffic Control and dark territory on freight railroad mainlines and transit-rail properties — and market the software suite as TrackMaster™.

The software system complements Global Rail’s YardMaster™ System and provides the company a “firm foundation for the development of our ‘Next Generation Office System,’” said Global Rail Executive Vice President David Ruskauff in a prepared statement.

Global Rail markets wireless railway automation systems designed for planned meets and train passes in dark territory, and remote-control switch, derail and blue-flag applications. The company also offers a non-vital logic controller.
