Progressive Rail Inc. (PR) recently filed an exemption notice with the Surface Transportation Board to lease a 38.3-mile line between Cameron and Norma, Wis., from Union Pacific Railroad.

Lakeville, Minn.-based PR plans to establish Class III carrier Wisconsin Northern Railroad Co. L.L.C. (WNRC) to operate the line in Barron and Chippewa counties. WNRC also would operate about 24 track miles in Barron County that Canadian National Railway Co. has agreed to lease to PR.
