Rail Partners Management Group LLC affiliate AllTrans Terminal Cos. LLC recently completed the acquisition of AllTrans Port Services LLC, Texas Transloaders LLC and their subsidiaries.

The acquired companies will be consolidated under AllTrans Terminal Cos. and managed by Mark Brown, Texas Transloaders’ owner who will serve as president of the consolidated entity.

AllTrans Port Services is a break-bulk steel importer operating at the Port of Houston. The company manages more than 100 acres of indoor and outdoor storage areas that have access to BNSF Railway Co., Kansas City Southern and Union Pacific Railroad lines.

In conjunction with Loup Logistics Co., Texas Transloaders operates rail-car transloading terminals that handle several unit trains per month serving major mills. UP recently created Loup Logistics by merging four of its subsidiaries: Union Pacific Distribution Services, Streamline, ShipCarsNow and Insight Network Logistics.

AllTrans Port Services and Texas Transloaders are integral pieces of a larger rail services platform strategy, said Tim Eklund, one of Rail Partners Management Group’s three managing partners, in a press release.

“We see tremendous opportunities to expand our relationships with the existing customers and to develop new partnerships with customers in the greater Houston area, [as well as] at new AllTrans locations developed on other rail-related acquisitions and investments we are pursuing,” he said.

Rail Partners Management Group is a rail transportation investment, management and development company. The firm acquires or invests in regionals, short lines and industrial rail operations; rail-served transload and terminal or logistics operations; and rail equipment assets and services.
