ShipXpress recently acquired the Web-based RailSync operations management system from Railinc.
Marketed to regionals and short lines, RailSync includes three applications designed to manage railroad operations and track car hire expenses daily, as well as create Electronic Data Interchange transactions and generate Interline Settlement Systems transactions. RailSync currently manages thousands of carloads daily for a number of U.S. and Canadian railroads.
ShipXpress provides Web-based logistics software and services to railroads, rail shippers and rail-car owners. RailSync will complement the company’s ShipX™ suite of rail-related logistics applications and services used by chemical, agriculture and forest products shippers, according to ShipXpress.
“With our technical expertise and extensive experience in the rail industry, we will be able to offer short line and regional railroads an easy-to-use solution that elevates their operating efficiency,” said ShipXpress Chief Executive Officer Charith Perera in a prepared statement.
