Short line to lease Louisiana track from UP

New Orleans & Gulf Coast Railway Co. Inc. recently filed an exemption notice with Surface Transportation Board to lease 11.5 track miles in Louisiana from Union Pacific Railroad.
The track comprises a 7-mile portion of UP's mainline between Goldsboro and Westwego, and a 4.5-mile spur — known as the Hooper Spur — between Harvey Yard and Bayou Street in Harvey.
The 24-mile short line and Class I expect to finalize the transaction by month's end.
