Transco Railway Products recently acquired Trinity Industries Inc.'s rail-car repair shops in Philadelphia; Memphis, Tenn.; Miles City, Mont.; Sioux City, Iowa; and Atlanta, Fairburn and Waycross, Ga.

The acquisition enables the Transco Inc. subsidiary to expand its network of car and component repair shops to 14. The company currently operates facilities in Buffalo, N.Y.; Oelwein, Iowa; Logansport, Ind.; Williamsport, Pa.; and Bucyrus, Newton Falls and Toledo, Ohio.

"[The transaction] allows us to enter the intermodal- and tank-car repair markets where we have had little presence in the past," said Transco Railway Products President Bob Nelson in a prepared statement. "In addition, two of the facilities are located on the BNSF, which now gives our network direct access to all four of the major U.S. Class Is."
