Unitrac Railroad Materials Inc. recently acquired Donovan EDH and Trackwork Solutions (D.E.T.S.), which provides an explosive depth hardening process.
A Healey Railroad Corp. subsidiary, Unitrac Railroad Materials supplies specialty trackwork — including switch material, turnouts, transition rails and track panels — and distributes new and relay rail. The company recently expanded its Knoxville, Tenn., plant.
The acquisition "represents a significant step in Unitrac's strategy to accelerate our growth as a major trackwork producer," and bolsters the company's manufacturing capabilities for turnouts, diamond crossings, transition rails and other specialty trackwork, said Unitrac Railroad Materials President and Chief Executive Officer Ray Lambert in a prepared statement.
