Gunderson Rail Services has a new name. Yesterday, The Greenbrier Cos. announced it renamed the subsidiary Greenbrier Rail Services (GRS).

All former Gunderson Rail Services, Meridian Rail Services and Rail Car America facilities now will adopt the Greenbrier Rail Services name. GRS provides rail-car repair, maintenance, wheel, axle and refurbishment services at 35 North American facilities.

"The name change reflects our ... efforts to integrate recent acquisitions and develop a consistent brand identity," said GRS President Tim Stuckey in a prepared statement.
