Theodore Baun is back in the fold at FreightCar America Inc. Today, the company named Baun vice president of sales-western region. He will report to Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales Ed Whalen.

Baun began his career with FreightCar America predecessor Johnstown America Corp. in Johnstown, Pa.

“We are extremely pleased to have Ted back, particularly with his strong background of industry and company experience,” said Whalen in a prepared statement.

Baun succeeds Timothy Johnson, who will transition into the position of vice president of sales-northern region to succeed Gary Sornsen. A FreightCar America/Johnstown America executive since 1992, Sornsen will retire in January.

FreightCar America builds coal, flat, intermodal and coil steel cars, mill gondolas and motor vehicle carriers.
