Nortech to provide components for GE Rail's locomotive camera

advertisement

GE Rail recently contracted Nortech Systems Inc. to supply components for the LocoCAM™ video camera system, which is mounted on a locomotive to record grade and pedestrian crossing events.

Nortech will build customized printed circuit board assemblies, develop software and perform tests to simulate locomotive operating conditions in the field.

The LocoCAM system features GE's LOCOCOMM® on-board computer and communications management module, which is designed to track a locomotive’s location and monitor fuel consumption.

GE has delivered a number of LocoCAM systems to BNSF Railway Co. and CSX Transportation. The company plans to deliver units to Canadian Pacific Railway by year’s end.
