Earlier this week, GE Equipment Services, Rail Services named Nick Tupper commercial leader for the rail-car team in the eastern sales region.

Most recently senior account manager for GE Rail Services’ food, agriculture and mineral business segment, Tupper has more than 23 years’ experience in the rail industry. Prior to joining GE in 1997 as Rail Services’ director of marketing, he held various sales, marketing and logistics positions with Southern Pacific and Union Pacific railroads, and Union Carbide Corp.

GE Rail Services manages a lease fleet of about 170,000 rail cars, including grain, coal and specialty hoppers; tank, box, plastics and intermodal flat cars; and mill gondolas. The company also leases a fleet of 150,000 intermodal trailers, containers and chassis to shippers and railroads.
