Yesterday, The Greenbrier Cos. announced it recently obtained orders for 1,300 rail cars valued at $100 million.

The company received a North American order for 900 center-partition cars and European order for 400 sliding-wall cars. Greenbrier will maintain long production runs for the two car types, company officials said in a prepared statement.

Greenbrier builds rail cars in the United States, Canada and Mexico, and repairs and refurbishes cars and wheels at 16 North American facilities. The company also builds and refurbishes cars in Europe, owns about 10,000 cars and manages 125,000 cars.
