Miner Enterprises files federal patent infringement lawsuit against A. Stucki

Miner Enterprises Inc. is suing one of its competitors for allegedly infringing on a constant-contact side bearing patent. Miner recently filed a lawsuit against A. Stucki Co. in the Federal District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

The suit claims certain constant-contact side bearings produced by A. Stucki infringe on a U.S. patent Miner obtained in October 2005. The patent recognizes the “inventiveness of Miner’s retrofit constant-contact side bearing technology, which minimizes rail-car roll and instability known as truck hunting,” Miner officials said in a prepared statement.

Miner supplies rail-car components, including TecsPak® constant-contact side bearings, draft gears, brake beams and heavy-duty unloading systems.
