Oregon's new Talgo Series 8 trains launched revenue service yesterday as part of the Amtrak Cascades corridor.

Passengers can take the first rides on the new trains along the route, which runs from Eugene, Ore., to Vancouver, British Columbia, the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) announced in a press release.

A new bus and train schedule for the Amtrak Cascades corridor takes effect with the addition of the trains, ODOT officials said.

Oregon's two new trains join the current fleet of five trains, three of which are owned by the Washington Department of Transportation, with the other two owned by Amtrak.
