Pressure relief valve sales, revenue on tap for Kelso Technologies

Kelso Technologies Inc. recently arranged meetings with multi-national chemical firms and a major rail repair and service facility to demonstrate the JS75 SRV pressure relief valve. The demos could lead to additional valve sales, Kelso officials believe. The firm began selling the JS75 SRV last month.

Meanwhile, Kelso officials expect the company to report revenue — for the first time in the firm’s history — for the fiscal first quarter, which ends Nov. 30. Revenue could “grow substantially” through 2006 because of current and potential sales, officials said in a prepared statement.

Kelso also recently renewed an investment banking advisory agreement with Dominick & Dominick Securities Inc., which will continue to provide financial advisory services. Kelso has worked with the consultant since 2002, when the valve supplier began seeking growth capital.

The valve is designed to prevent product contamination and back pressure, and eliminate the need for a safety valve nozzle. Smaller and lighter compared with other pressure-relief valves, the JS75 SRV features an unobstructed opening and flow aperture, and can be retrofitted to existing tank cars without structural changes, according to Kelso.

The company is marketing the valve to North American oil and gas, and chemical shippers and tank-car lessors/owners though its recently formed U.S. subsidiary.
