RailComm to supply remote-control locomotive switching system to limestone miner

advertisement

RailComm Inc. recently obtained an order from ON Materials for a wireless remote-control locomotive switching system.

Designed to provide a locomotive engineer control of all power switches from the cab via radio and operate switches via remote control, the system will be installed at ON Materials’ limestone mining operation in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.

Using a point-to-point data communication network and RailComm’s RADiANT™ data radio technology to link an on-board controller with equipped power switches, the system provides an engineer information on switch status and alignment via a standard voice radio installed in the cab.

RailComm markets machine-to-machine command, control, communication and information systems to North American freight and passenger railroads, and other industries.
