RailPower Technologies Corp. recently promoted Director of Finance Peter Ballachey to chief financial officer to succeed Alain Voisin, who was appointed controller and will continue to serve as corporate secretary.

Ballachey has about 30 years' experience in accounting management, including stints as CFO at BC Rail Ltd., and head of financial analysis and reporting groups, commercial development, passengers services and internal audits at Canadian Pacific Railway.

"Peter's extensive railroad senior executive and financial management experience … will be invaluable as we move forward," said RailPower President and Chief Executive Officer Jim Maier in a prepared statement.

RailPower produces the hybrid Green Goat® and Green Kid® switchers, which are designed to reduce engine emissions and fuel usage.
