Today, The Greenbrier Cos. announced it recently received North American orders for about 5,000 rail cars valued at $260 million. The orders include 4,500 double-stack intermodal wells.
The orders boosted Greenbrier's combined North American and European backlog to 12,300 cars valued at $720 million compared with 10,300 units valued at $620 million on Nov. 30, 2004, and 10,000 units valued at $560 million on Feb. 29, 2004.
Greenbrier produces rail cars at facilities in the United States, Canada, Mexico and Poland; and repairs, refurbishes, maintains, manages and leases cars.
