The Rocky Mountaineer tourism rail service in Canada yesterday announced it  accepted its 10th newly built rail car in time for the railroad to mark its 30th anniversary in 2020.

In 2015, the railroad ordered 10 GoldLeaf rail cars from Stadler in Germany. Delivery of the final car marks a milestone for the railroad's team ahead of the anniversary celebration, said Rocky Mountaineer President and Chief Executive Officer Steve Sammut in a press release.

"We look forward to hosting and showcasing the best of western Canada to even more guests in 2020 and beyond,” he said.

The rail service has doubled its capacity over the past six years with the addition of the GoldLeaf and 12 SilverLeaf rail cars, company officials said.

The new GoldLeaf cars seat 72 riders and feature dome windows.
