SKF recently appointed Michael Loose president of SKF Railway Business Unit North America (RBU NAM). Based in Elizabethtown, Ky., the unit supplies roller bearings for rail cars, locomotives, multiple units and high-speed vehicles.
Loose most recently served as global vice president of SKF's RS Industrial Segment-Service Division. Since joining SKF in 1981, he has served in a number of management positions. In 1969, Loose began his railroading career with the Reading Railroad and later served Conrail in various capacities.
VP of Operations Paul Price, VP of Sales and Marketing Gregory Gerardi, Controller John King and Quality Assurance Manager James Grow now report to Loose.
"The new RBU NAM management will further develop the refurbishment and railroad bearing business … in North America," SKF officials said in a prepared statement.
