Saft to provide batteries for 340 Port Authority Trans-Hudson cars

Kawasaki Rail Car Inc. recently awarded a contract to Saft to supply nickel-cadmium batteries for 340 passenger-rail cars Kawasaki is building for the Port Authority Trans-Hudson Corp.

Marketed for rail applications, the Saft SRX 195 batteries feature stainless steel containers designed to resist chemical and physical impacts.
