Standard Car Truck Co. and Cooper Standard Automotive Inc. recently agreed to jointly design and manufacture freight-car control components.

The collaboration will take advantage of Standard Car Truck’s rail industry experience and Cooper Standard’s vibration control product knowledge, according to a prepared statement.

“Our collective goal is to provide the global freight-car community innovative products that add to the safety and productivity of our customer base,” said Standard Tank Car Chairman Rick Mathes.

Cooper Standard markets trim, and sealing, control and fluid-handling systems to the automotive industry; Standard Car Truck offers rail-car stabilization systems to the railroad industry.
