TTCI, U.K. arm adopt asset management modeling tool
advertisement
The Transportation Technology Center Inc. (TTCI) and its British subsidiary TTCI (UK) Ltd. recently began using the Vehicle Track Interaction Strategic Model (VTISM), a new asset management modeling tool.
VTISM is PC-based decision-support software jointly developed for the United Kingdom rail industry by the Rail Safety and Standards Board (RSSB) and Network Rail. Commissioned by RSSB, the modeling tool is designed to analyze “what if” scenarios to optimize vehicle and track maintenance, renewal and management.
VTISM, which focuses on large populations of distributed assets, can help railroads predict the influence of decisions on future performance indicators, and quantify cost savings by optimizing track characteristics and maintenance functions.
TTCI and TTCI (UK) Ltd. plan to use the tool to provide better consulting services to customers worldwide.
