Yesterday, The Andersons Inc. announced it acquired 1,180 rail cars. Terms weren’t disclosed.
The acquisition increases The Andersons Rail Group’s fleet 8 percent to 15,980 cars and diversifies its portfolio. The group also owns more than 115 locomotives.
“Growing our rail-car inventory is consistent with our goal of becoming the total rail solutions provider for our customers,” said The Andersons President and Chief Executive Officer Mike Anderson in a prepared statement.
The Andersons Rail Group leases cars and locomotives, and offers fleet management and car repair services.
